Product Development
The development of an aesthetic module design which enables sensitive integration in the fields of old buildings, monuments, and landscapes, required innovative and creative approaches, but had also to take into consideration the criteria of financial and technological feasibility.
The cooperation between designers and technology producers therefore aimed from the beginning at the development of marketable products. Solutions were sought and found that combine a minimum technical effort with a maximum of convincing aesthetics and transferability.
Based on thin-film technology on the one hand, and crystalline solar cells on the other, a concentration on those features which are especially interesting for marketing took place:
- Semitransparency,
- Surface structure,
- Colour,
- Multifunctional elements.
The product developments which are presented here are protected under patent law.
